PEEP 2019 – PRIMARY ENGLISH EDUCATION IN PORTUGAL: A MEETING FOR TEACHERS OF ENGLISH 

Introduction

​​​​​​​The third edition of PEEP is a joint event organized by the School of Education and Communication of the University of Algarve and Nova University of Lisbon, and will bring together teachers and researchers of Primary English Teaching from Portugal to share, discuss, reflect on and develop their ideas around practice. This meeting offers opportunities for professional development and networking.

PEEP’19 is a one-day programme for teachers of English to share their research and teaching ideas, as well as attend workshops and keynote sessions. ​​​​​​​
 

​​​​​​​Call for participation

Proposals are welcomed from teachers of English involved in classroom-based research and reflective practice. We look forward to seeing teachers share their MA research or teachers who have been involved in other professional development activities.​​​​​​​

Guidelines for abstract proposals 
Length: 200-250 words 
Language: Portuguese or English 

​​​​​​​Content: 

  1. An explanation of the context, focus and objectives of the classroom experience and why you decided to carry it out. 

  1. A brief description of pedagogical strategies used and how you collected data to evaluate their impact on learners/ learning. 

  1. Your main discoveries and / or challenges regarding learning/teaching. 

  1. A mention of the relevance of your experience for your own professional development.  

  1. A consideration of the relevance of your experience for other primary English teachers in Portugal.  

(Do not include bibliographic references in the abstract proposal unless they are essential; if you do, provide the full references in the end using APA style)
